Non-Surgical Fillers and Wrinkle Remedies

Botox injections, the most popular physician administered procedure in the US are used to temporarily improve the appearance of wrinkles around the eyes, forehead, and between the brows. The effects generally last 4-6 months. Dr. Bitar also injects Botox Cosmetic in the upper lip for a gummy smile reduction and under the arms to decrease sweating, with great results.



Fillers, such as Restylane, Juvederm, and Radiesse which was FDA approve as of December 28, 2006, are used to smooth wrinkles by adding volume. Restylane and Juvederm are gels, made from hyaluronic acid, a natural sugar that binds to water. These fillers correct the hollowness under the eyes and plump the lips. Results last between 6-12 months. Radiesse, a thicker filler, is made from tiny calcium particles in a viscous solution and works well for the smile lines, cheeks and jowls, lasting up to 18 months.
