National Leukemia and Lymphoma Society "Man of The Year"
Dr. George Bitar receives the National Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Man of the Year Award, as the record fundraiser over a ten-week campaign, helping to raise $5.8 million nationwide with over $710,000 for the Washington Chapter of the Society. Dr. Bitar joined the campaign in memory of his grandmother, who passed away from lymphoma, as well as a cousin and a close friend, who also succumbed to leukemia.

His plastic surgery residency was completed at the University of Virginia plastic surgery program. Dr. Bitar also completed a cosmetic and breast surgery fellowship at a prestigious cosmetic surgery center in the United States with ten other board certified plastic surgeons. After Dr. Bitar finished his cosmetic fellowship at the Charlotte Plastic Surgery Center, he participated in international cosmetic fellowships in Rio de Janeiro, Beverly Hills and Paris with some of the most prominent plastic surgeons in the world. He later established the Bitar Cosmetic Surgery Institute in Northern Virginia.
